Configurations - Create and Configure SBC’s
For your Direct Routing services to operate normally, an SBC configuration is required. In this area of OnePortal Formerly known as Partner Portal. A redesigned web portal for managing Dialogue Cloud deployments., you can manage SBC configurations for your customers.
SBC Configurations
To browse to the overview page, open Configurations and select SBC Configurations.
Overview page
This is the overview page. From here you can create a new SBC configuration or manage an existing one.
Each SBC configuration tile shows the following details:

SBC Hostname
-
Region
-
Environment
-
Customer Name
-
IP Group
-
Redundancy Mode
-
Load Balancing Mode
From the overview you can also choose to Edit or Delete an SBC configuration.
Create new SBC Configuration
To create a new SBC configuration, select Create and then choose SBC.
This opens the creation page.
Basic Configuration
Here you must provide the following details:

Configuration Display Name: Enter the name you want to use for the SBC configuration.

Region: Select the region this SBC configuration will operate in.

Enhanced Direct Routing (EDR Enhanced Direct Routing (EDR) is the AnywhereNow name of the Microsoft Direct Routing configuration option of REFER support of SIP headers (Option 2) to allow richer transferheaders in SIP messages, allowing for more information to be passed on in transfer related and forward scenarios. Refer support was a later addition to Microsoft's Direct Routing stack (hence option 2), AnywhereNow followed suit by developing both implementations, first option 1 and later option 2.): This is a checkbox. It is recommended to enable EDR when supported. However, this does require some additional setup on the customer’s SBC. Please see a summary of steps on Steps to enable EDR.

Shared Config:
-
This is a checkbox. Enable it when an SBC configuration will be shared across two or more customers.

Leave it cleared when the SBC configuration will only be used by one customer.

SRTP: This is a checkbox.

Enable it to use Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP).

Leave it cleared to use Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP).

SBCs
The next step is to add SBCs to this configuration.
You must set the following:

Protocol: You can choose between TCP, UDP, and TLS.

FQDN FDQN stands for Fully Qualified Domain Name and specifies the exact location in the tree hierarchy of the Domain Name System (DNS). An example for [hostname].[domain].[top level domain] is [www].[microsoft].[com]/IP: Enter either a Fully Qualified Domain Name that can be resolved using public name servers, or a valid IP address.

Port: Enter the port over which traffic will flow.
When ready, select Add to list.
You can then either proceed with the SBC already added to this configuration, or select Add new to add another SBC.
When you add two or more SBCs to the configuration, additional routing options become available.
You can also remove an SBC from the list by using the garbage bin icon.
In this section, you can manage how traffic should flow between the different SBCs in the configuration.
Routing Options
Note
This section is only available when you have added more than one SBC.
Multi SBC type:

Priority routes calls to the first available SBC in the list.

Homing: Upon failover to a secondary SBC, traffic will revert to the primary once connectivity is restored.

Parking: Traffic will continue to use the failover route even if the primary SBC returns to service.

Priority Order: A lower number indicates higher priority. Traffic will be routed to the SBC at the top of the list first.
Note
When you choose Priority, you can change the order by dragging and dropping the SBCs into the correct position.

Load Balancing

Round Robin: Traffic is routed to each SBC in turn. The first call hits the first SBC, the second hits the second SBC, and routing continues in this manner until reaching the end of the list, at which point the cycle resumes with the first SBC.

Weighted: Traffic will be balanced between the SBCs based on the assigned weights. For example, an SBC with a weight of 50 should receive 50% of the incoming traffic.
Note
When selecting Load Balancing with Random Weights, you can use the sliders to distribute the load balancing percentage between the SBCs in your configuration.

When ready, select Create configuration to save and create the SBC configuration.
Edit existing SBC Configuration
Select Edit on an SBC configuration to open the same pop-up window again.
When ready, select Update configuration to save the changes to the existing SBC configuration.
